Hi Jonathan, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I never imagined that my career would lead me to where I am today—helping millions of job seekers worldwide. As a first-generation Filipino-American, I grew up believing that landing a role at a top company was out of reach. I didn’t have the traditional Ivy League background or the connections that many others seemed to have. But what I did have was a determination to figure it out and a passion for helping others do the same.
When I started my career, I was fortunate to land roles at Snapchat, Google, and Cisco. But even after securing these jobs, I noticed a gap—there were so many talented people from non-traditional backgrounds who didn’t know how to break into their dream careers. That’s when I had an idea: what if I could build a platform that helped turn underdogs into winners?
And so, Wonsulting was born. It started as a small initiative—helping a few job seekers here and there. But as our impact grew, so did our mission. Today, Wonsulting has expanded into a team of 25+ employees, and our AI-powered tools through WonsultingAI (ResumAI, CoverLetterAI, JobBoardAI, NetworkAI, InterviewAI, JobTrackerAI and more) have helped millions of job seekers take control of their career journeys.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
The journey wasn’t easy. When I first started Wonsulting, I had no roadmap. I was juggling a full-time job while building a business on the side, working late nights and early mornings to help job seekers for free. There were moments of doubt, times when I questioned if I was making the right choice.
One of the biggest challenges was convincing people that non-traditional candidates deserved a seat at the table. The job market has always been stacked against those who don’t fit the mold, and changing that narrative wasn’t an overnight process. But every success story—from someone landing their dream role after 300+ rejections to a single mom securing a life-changing opportunity—kept me going.
Now, with WonsultingAI, we’re scaling that impact in a way I never thought possible. Seeing our AI tools help job seekers at scale reminds me why I started in the first place.

Wonsulting is more than a career consulting & software company – it’s a movement. We’re redefining how job seekers approach their careers by leveraging AI and networking. Our AI-driven job search tools take the guesswork out of applying, making the process more accessible for everyone.
But at its core, our mission remains the same: to turn underdogs into winners. Seeing someone land their dream job because of Wonsulting never gets old—that’s what keeps me going every day.
How do you think about luck?
I don’t believe in luck in the traditional sense. Instead, I believe in preparation meeting opportunities. Yes, there have been moments in my journey where things lined up in a way that seemed like luck—meeting the right people, being featured in major publications, going viral on social media. But none of that would have happened if I hadn’t put in the work day after day.
What might look like luck from the outside is really the result of persistence, resilience, and a willingness to help others. I’ve learned that when you focus on providing value, opportunities find their way to you.
