Today we’d like to introduce you to Jolie Dionisio.
Jolie, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I started out dabbling in event planning and realized there was a huge hole in the market for specialty party supply. Wild Child was intended to just be a small pop up but that quickly became a bigger concept/ operation. We just celebrated our fourth birthday, and in that time we have grown into a full-service event planning company with a team of six as well as a party store with two locations one in Long Beach and one opening after the first the year in Orange County.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
If anyone ever tells you the growth of their Business was smooth sailing with no bumps they’re lying. We have definitely had ups and downs, and I do my best to learn from each one. One of the major lessons I’ve learned is to trust your instincts when it comes to partnerships.
Any relationship that has gone bad or good, I usually could go back and say I should’ve trusted my instincts from the beginning. Learning to trust your gut and yourself it’s something that you really have to pay attention to.
Wild Child Party – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
We always refer to Wild Child as a one-stop shop if you will. If you are planning your party and want to shop with us in store, we offer services that can help you make your party extra special, like designer balloons with custom confetti and tassels from our balloon bar.
Our full-service event planning and installations are what we’ve really become known for, especially our balloon installations. When I look back at some of the installations and partnerships that we have done in the past few years it really makes me proud.
My team and I are constantly pushing ourselves to be more creative than the last time, and it’s really paid off. We do our best to stay away from the norm and to be more creative and inventive with every installation.
What moment in your career do you look back most fondly on?
That’s a hard question, there are so many, and every opportunity we have to push ourselves creatively I’m insanely proud. But it’s kind of like OK what’s next? Sometimes it’s hard to sit back and really take in what we just did or accomplished.
I have to say one of the things I’m mostly proud about are some of the relationships we’ve built along the way; it really is cool to say “yeah we worked with him or we’ve done that for them.”
But one thing that is really exciting is that we’re opening up our second shop location, that to me feels like a huge accomplishment… but also a little scary, it’s a little unsettling when taking in major leap like that but also exciting.

- custom party boxes, this is a way for us to style your party and have it shipped straight to your door and the minimum on that is $250
