Meet John Moss of Brass Junkie in Huntington Beach

Today we’d like to introduce you to John Moss.

John, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
My 30+ years of experience in the creative realm lead me to form Brass Junkie, Inc as the unique company it is; blending multimedia into architectural art.

Starting out Ii Southern California at Disney and Knotts Berry Farm in the scenic department, I then spent seven years painting and airbrushing cars and motorcycles. That detail experience led to high-end Venetian plaster Projects for the Hollywood elite. From there, I acquired my first shop. I began welding for fun on both cars and motorcycles, creating a show winning 1934 ford truck rat rod that caught the attention of the clothing company affliction. I aided in creating the line “American Customs” acting as Director of retail design of the company. Soon after, I started Brass Junkie, Inc. You can see my work in Las Vegas hotels, casinos, retail shops, restaurants and more all over the world.

BJco. designs creates and builds for residential, commercial and retail clients.

We specialize in: metal design, (cladding, patina, railings, architectural pieces, art form) reclaimed products, old growth lumber, vintage machinery, old car parts and more (cladding, architectural pieces, industrial art, props) lime plasters/concrete (walls, floors, forms, kitchens, bathrooms) custom painting, acrylic, oil, urethane (signs, distressing, scenic, lettering).

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Its been a bumpy exciting road… working with so many medias can be tough to market as a unit so I’d say marketing Brass Junkie target audience has been a challenge ex: (one day building a hot rod…the next day doing Venetian plaster in a restaurant). I’ve learned to sell brass junkie as an all-around industrial artist.

So, as you know, we’re impressed with Brass Junkie – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
Brass junkie specializes in industrial art that specializes in metal design, reclaimed products, lime plasters, hot rods, choppers, custom specialized painting and anything cool you can think of we do.

I’m proud that passion comes before anything here.

What sets Brass Junkie apart is the experience we offer in so many art forms to our clients.

So, what’s next? Any big plans?
