Meet Jocelyn Osorio of West Hollywood

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jocelyn Osorio

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I grew up in Iquique, Chile, a lively beach city. My mom was a hairdresser, and my dad was a bench jewelry maker. Summers were the best because tourists from all over the world would visit, and that’s what sparked my dream of learning English and studying abroad.

I started entering local beauty competitions, and during school breaks, I worked as a brand promoter for Coca-Cola, Fanta, and Sprite. I had so much fun handing out samples to people enjoying volleyball matches or just hanging out at the beach. Those early days by the ocean really fueled my love for learning and connecting with others.

After winning a few beauty competitions, I was invited to compete in Miss Chile, but I decided to pass. Around the same time, I got the chance to study Dramatic Arts in London, UK, and I knew that was the path for me. I moved to London, spent several amazing years there, working as a model, and studied theater at Italia Conti, where I later graduated with a BA with honors.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?

It was anything but a smooth road. I faced countless challenges that pushed me to the brink of giving up. There were moments when I felt utterly alone, lost in a vast, often unforgiving city that seemed to swallow me whole. The isolation was palpable, made worse by the sting of discrimination and the cold distance of those who couldn’t see past my origins and thick accent.

There were times when the weight of it all felt unbearable, and I questioned whether I had the strength to continue. But deep within me burned a love and passion for learning, and a fierce desire to share my story with other young women from small towns like mine. That fire, that unwavering determination, is what kept me going. I knew that if I could persevere, if I could hold on through the darkest times, I would eventually reach my goals—and in doing so, prove that no dream is too big, no road too difficult for those who dare to believe in themselves.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?

I’m a model and actress, and my work is rooted in my passion for storytelling and connecting with people from all walks of life. I’ve had the privilege of working on a wide range of projects, from fashion campaigns for Jimmy Choo, Armani, and Herbal Essences to film and television roles. Some of my notable appearances include *The Mentalist*, *How I Met Your Mother*, and being a series regular on “SAF3” alongside Dolph Lundgren. What I specialize in is bringing authenticity to everything I do—whether it’s portraying a character on screen or embodying a brand’s vision in a photo shoot.

I’m known for my versatility and ability to adapt to different roles and styles, but what I’m most proud of is how I’ve used my platform on social media to inspire and empower others, particularly young women who come from humble beginnings like mine. I’ve always believed that our backgrounds don’t define us; it’s our determination and resilience that shape our futures.

What sets me apart is my journey and the authenticity I bring to my work. Growing up in a small beach town in Chile, I faced challenges that many might see as insurmountable, but I used them as fuel to push me forward. I’m proud of staying true to my roots while also evolving and embracing new opportunities. It’s this balance of staying grounded yet reaching for the stars that I believe makes my work unique and meaningful.

What has been the most important lesson you’ve learned along your journey?

The most important lesson I’ve learned along my journey is the power of resilience and self-belief. There were times when the challenges seemed overwhelming and the path ahead was unclear. I faced setbacks and moments of doubt, but I discovered that it’s not about how many times you fall; it’s about how many times you get back up and keep moving forward.

I’ve learned that staying true to yourself, even when others may not understand or support your dreams, is crucial. Believing in your own potential and staying committed to your goals can turn obstacles into opportunities. Every setback was a chance to learn and grow, and each hurdle I overcame made me stronger and more determined.

Ultimately, this journey has taught me that success isn’t just about reaching a destination; it’s about the growth and self-discovery that happen along the way. Embracing the ups and downs with grace and perseverance has been the key to achieving my dreams and finding fulfillment in my work and life.
