Today we’d like to introduce you to Jo Anna Provencher.
So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
Being extremely fair skinned and frustrated that I couldn’t get a natural looking spray tan anywhere, and everywhere I went I was either orange, blotchy or streaky, I decided to do something about it. I searched for the perfect solution and finally found a spray tan that not only was natural, brown and left you looking organically sun kissed, it was made with all natural and organic ingredients, and is packed with vitamins and anti-aging properties, so it is actually beneficial to your skin. It also doesn’t smell like tanning solution either. I was trained, got certified and started spray tanning my friends, and they were so pleased, they started referring their friends. And their friends referred their friends and before I knew it LA Organic Tanning was born.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It has been a smooth road for the most part. However, as in any business, there was definitely a learning curve. In the beginning, it took a while to build a client base, but I was lucky enough to have the word spread by some amazing clients. I have definitely been blessed with meeting some truly wonderful people. Being a mobile company, there have been some unique situations I have fallen into. But I wouldn’t have changed a thing. I have mixed up multiple solutions to assure I can give a custom tan to any skin tone since everyone has a different skin tone or preference. It was important to me to be able to please everyone, so it did take time to learn what shade was most beneficial for each client.
Please tell us about LA Organic Tanning.
LA Organic Tanning is a mobile spray tan company that will come to your home, office, hotel or anywhere you need us. Our solutions are made with natural and organic ingredients, which are packed with vitamins and antioxidants which make you not only look good, but feel good. Our tanning solutions not only give you a beautiful, brown glow, but are also moisturizing and skin firming. I am very proud that we use ingredients that are actually beneficial to your skin. And I am extremely proud that our solutions are never tested on animals.
Do you look back particularly fondly on any memories from childhood?
Oh, that’s tough. I have many. All contain my mother. Most are of family vacations and frolicking in the sun on a beach somewhere. I guess I have always had an affinity for fun in the sun.
