Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Growing up in a traditional East-Asian family with no art relation or background, I was enveloped in an environment of encouraging rigorous academics, and constantly presented that the best choice is to seek a safe career path, steering away from any unpredictability. However, my relocation to the US unveiled the allure of creativity as I entered the school of arts and design.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
The intensity of design projects at ArtCenter College of Design was a significant challenge. These projects demanded not only creativity but a deep understanding of design principles and user experience. I remember spending countless nights in front of the screen, working through multiple iterations of complex assignments. This rigorous process was both intellectually stimulating and physically taxing, requiring meticulous attention to detail and a high level of perseverance. Balancing these demanding projects with other academic responsibilities and adapting to a new cultural environment was challenging, but it was crucial in honing my design skills and resilience.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
As a professional in the field of design, my expertise lies in creating innovative and user-centric solutions in areas such as graphic design, branding, UI/UX, and digital media. My work is distinguished by a versatility that allows me to cater to a wide array of client needs, ranging from individual startups to large corporations. This ability to adapt and deliver high-quality designs across various contexts has been a key factor in my success.

My dedication and skill in the field have been recognized through several prestigious awards, including the A’ Design Award, IDA Award, Chicago Good Design Award, and MUSE Award. These accolades reflect my commitment to excellence in design and my ability to create work that is not only aesthetically pleasing but also effective in communicating and engaging with diverse audiences. The recognition from these awards serves as a testament to my standing in the design community and my continuous pursuit of innovation and excellence.

Who else deserves credit in your story?
Of course, the success I’ve achieved in my career is not solely my own; it has been significantly influenced by a network of mentors, supporters, and advocates, most notably my father. His life story has been a major source of inspiration for me. Coming from a humble background where he had little to nothing, he demonstrated an incredible spirit of hustle and perseverance. Watching him build a life from the ground up instilled in me the values of hard work, resilience, and the belief that dedication can overcome the most daunting of obstacles.

My father’s journey taught me to approach my career with the same tenacity and determination. He was not just a role model but also a constant supporter, encouraging me to pursue my passions and dreams, even though the field of art and design was an unfamiliar path to him. His unwavering belief in my abilities and his example of turning challenges into opportunities has been instrumental in shaping my approach to my work and life. His influence has been a guiding force, reminding me that with persistence and hard work, any goal is attainable.
