Meet Jessica Robles

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jessica Robles.

Every artist has a unique story. Can you briefly walk us through yours?
Hello, my name is Jessica. I’m from Los Angeles, born and raised. Being born in the late 80’s was definitely a blessing because the digital era didn’t take over yet. I’ve been in love with photography since I was 15. I was in high school and that’s where I fell head over heels in love with Black & White Film Photography. Shortly after, I got a work permit so I could purchase my very first film camera. I went to college specifically for film (analog) photography. My digital photography is self-taught. I have dedicated my life to photography since day one!

Please tell us about your art.
I’m a professional photographer. I’ve been shooting professionally for 10+ years so I’ve done all kinds of photo shoots. I started off doing baby portraits, then moved onto professional pet portraits to now, where I’m focusing mainly on high fashion editorials, lifestyle & product photography. I’m a WOC, so it’s always been important to represent other WOC. It’s getting so much better, but I’m still noticing a lack of representation in the fashion industry. I honestly want to represent everyone, but especially people who feel like they are not represented. It’s very important to show diversity! Beauty comes in all shapes and sizes!

As an artist, how do you define success and what quality or characteristic do you feel is essential to success as an artist?
Success is probably different in everyone’s opinion, but for me, success as an artist means so many things. If you love what you are doing, you are already succeeding! I currently shoot full time, hooray, but it’s taken some time to get here. It’s been a roller coaster and will always remain one. Owning your business always has its share of difficulties, but I am extremely happy and thankful to be working for myself.

How or where can people see your work? How can people support your work?
You can view my website/online portfolio. I am ALWAYS available to hire! I am located in Los Angeles and I can travel. I shoot editorials, events, engagements, look-books, album covers, etc. I really love photography! The artistic possibilities are endless.
