Her clients include CNN, United Airlines, Matador Network, and Tastemade. She is an independent filmmaker, photographer, journalist, and graphic/web designer.

In 2016, Jessica completed her first documentary, “American Soil, Chamorro Soul,” about the people of Guam. From fundraising to directing, Jessica is a born entrepreneur, wearing as many hats as it takes to complete a project. She wrote, directed, produced, and edited the film. The trailer has been viewed more than 1 million times and was the centerpiece in the Guam International Film Festival.

GlobalGirlTravels.com was launched in July 2014. Every week, Jessica publishes original travel stories, photography, and/or video content. She has been hired by brands all over the world to promote destinations, events, hotels, and tours.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Living on the US territory of Guam was challenging. I arrived in 2009, knowing no one. I didn’t set out for form a media company and produce my first film, but no one else was exposing Guam’s rich culture and history the way I thought it deserved.

I first started TheGuamGuide.com in 2011, then produced, directed, shot, and edited my first documentary film in 2015. It was an uphill battle to prove myself to the locals. There were times my motives were questioned, my character assassinated, and my business slandered.

I persevered because I knew no one else would do the work I felt was necessary. This led to my current career as an independent filmmaker. I went on to work for brands like CNN, Tastemade, United Airlines, and Matador Network. As a new filmmaker, I had to prove myself at every step.
