Today we’d like to introduce you to Jessica Joan.
Hi Jessica, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Hmmm… this is always a funny one for me to share…
I grew up in Southern California. I spent my childhood in Orange County, but LA raised me. I went to over 10 different schools, so change and jumping into the unknown was a skill I acquired at a young age. Especially growing up very unorthodox, a reverse Cinderella story. As a child I was well loved and had a charmed experience, even if only for a brief moment in time. My parents were on their own journey of figuring themselves out and fighting their demons, as we all do. As a child, I had many opportunities and a desire to model, but my parents had their own inner battles with addiction they had to face, which forced them to not be able to be present.
Which ultimately led to the crumbling of any normalcy or childhood I had. I don’t want to spoil the details in my book “The Untouchable Jessica Joan. The Downfall of NXIVM”, but let’s just say a SWAT team comes through the door and my whole world changes yet again. My grandparents adopted us and did their best to provide a life with love, care, and support. Despite their best efforts, there was immense trauma weighing me down.
Even in living with my grandparents I wasn’t safe or ever felt home. I started working at 14, had a 4.0 GPA, and moved out on my own at 16.
I moved to LA at 18 and lived up a whole Hollywood experience. Ultimately, I knew I had a calling and a responsibility that no amount of partying or running away could keep me from. I had a huge epiphany and thus began my Spiritual healing journey. I had always been a seeker of truth and been driven to heal my past traumas. Travels to holy lands, 10-Day Silent Meditation Retreats, yoga, therapy, all the things, and eventually me enrolling in NXIVM’s “Executive Success Program,” sold as a personal development company for high achievers who wanted to reach their highest potential and help humanity.
My childhood traumas and experience with darkness allowed me to handle the NXIVM situation in a way that not only helped get the leader convicted with a 120-year prison sentence but also empowered me.
That was a road that led me deeper into my purpose in a way I could never have imagined. One that some people can barely comprehend, while for me, is something I’m grateful for, and without that experience, I would not have seen my resilience, courage, and what I’m truly made of without it.
Which is where I am at this very moment, only now I finally have the space to focus on being an artist, an actress, and storyteller. I’m here to be a vessel and conduit to share stories, especially those that help inspire and move humanity forward.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
I’ll just list a few:
– Parents battling addiction
-deep core wounds of abandonment from my mother
-SWAT team raiding my house in 5th grade
-Always on the move
-Betrayal from those closest to me
-Feelings of aloneness
-SA
-Thinking I was joining a woman’s empowerment group, only to find out I accidentally joined a cult and was being blackmailed
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I coined the term “Evolutionary Storyteller,” which is where my art, business, and everything I do is seeded with the intention of helping move humanity forward.
Poetry is my first love and my favorite creative expression. I’m very proud of my short film “gLOVEs.” My first art baby I created with my dear friend and talented director Hugo Valentine. We just wanted to make art, and I wanted create something could showcase different aspects of my talent from the poet, the actress, the producer, and creator.
Something that sets me apart from others, is I don’t wait for opportunities. I create them. I have full faith and trust in my path, even when it’s stormy and isn’t clear- I follow my heart.
Being a truth-teller and living authentically is also something I’ve found to set me apart. I’m a very transparent and honest person, to the point where there can mixed bag of reception to it. Small talk can be a challenge for me. I just want truth.
Even in releasing my book “The Untouchable Jessica Joan. The Downfall of NXVIM,” it was something I had to do a tremendous amount of inner work, healing, and shadow work in order to bring it to light.

Storytelling and art is one of the most powerful tools of influence and change which is why I’m so passionate about acting and helping produce projects that have meaning and will help people grow, heal and connect deeper with their truth.
So maybe we end on discussing what matters most to you and why?
I’m driven by the desire to create, to help others, and to be in service to Love.
At the end of the day, were all going to have our last breath in this life.
I’ve experienced a deep amount of pain and suffering and learned how to transmute that back into unconditional love. I know what it feels to hurt, and I know what it feels to love.
We all have this capacity and ability, so it’s important to me to share that gift with as many people as possible. Not because I am a guru or have all the answers, but as a reminder that we all have the answers within us.
Everyone has trauma, whether grand or small and the sooner we can heal that, we can be more aware of what’s important, that we’re all connected and can work together to make this world a better place.
