Meet JENNY VOSS, Soulful Singer/Songwriter from San Diego

Today we’d like to introduce you to JENNY VOSS Music.

Every artist has a unique story. Can you briefly walk us through yours?
JENNY VOSS was born with music in her blood. From a family of singers and performers, I’ve loved the spotlight since day one. (Being a Leo also helps.) Whether that was dancing, cheering, singing or performing; any chance I had to get on a stage, I took. Always wanting a back up plan to singing, I began working at 15, picking up all types of jobs and hobbies that would introduce me to new experiences. I learned the Law Of Attraction at a young age, and started to DO anything that I wanted to. For the first time in my life I was in control of my reality, and boy, was I a dreamer. I earned my college degree, pursued opportunities in hospitality, marketing, sales, radio, event production, all of which taught me so much about life, business, music, and hard work. I sang anywhere I could and collaborated with anyone I could. I truly feel everything that I’ve done in my life has prepared me perfectly for what’s to come in my musical adventure. After college, I moved to San Diego on a whim, found a full time job, and instantly started gigging around town. After many years of singing cover songs in the corners of restaurants and in between working my demanding nine to five, I have finally found my own sound and fine-tuned my instrument, my voice. I am finally ready to bloom into a recording/performing artist. I’ve fallen in love with the process of songwriting, and have realized that this is what I was made to do. Today marks the very first day that I am officially taking the leap of faith into my full-time music career. For the first time in my life, music will get 100% of me and my energy. JENNY VOSS is officially her own BOSS.

Please tell us about your art.
JENNY VOSS is a CREATOR. A creator of melody, lyrics, vocals, stories and environments. I strive to be a powerful feminine energy in the world of music, bringing a soulful and upbeat energy into everything that I create. I hope my music empowers us all to never settle for anything less than our wildest dreams.  With a heart open to many genres, my music will be forever transcending. My favorite part of the song writing process in the first improv/freestyle take I get to create on a fresh track. I live for the true creation of it all. With a wide range of inspirations from H.E.R., Post Malone and Dua Lipa to Amy Winehouse, Whitney Houston and Miguel, I’m excited to explore all the avenues my voice can travel through and all of the feelings I can evoke with my music.

With two singles released in the last two months and an EP album on the way, my first soul-o project is just getting started. This first album is R&B/Soul focused with my team of producers, SoulRich Productions. After releasing “Never Know” and “Honey Hips” with SoulRich, our team is ready to release a bigger, more meaningful project in our upcoming EP, “FREE.” “FREE” will be ready for release soon with four powerful songs that will truly make your souls feel rich. “Never Know” was my first single dropped as JENNY VOSS, to explain the feeling of having a connection with someone and not being able to explore it. The sound samples a Latin style guitar lead with rich trumpets and a catchy, nostalgic hook. “Honey Hips” was my second drop and shows my appreciation for all the LOVE this life shows in the form of my physical body, the breathe in my lungs, and the sun shining on my skin. Honey Hips also aims to help women be more prideful of the body they live in, and show gratitude for everything that we are given in this beautiful life. “Honey Hips” is an upbeat hip hop vibe with a sound bite of summer. Four fresh songs on my EP “FREE” are coming next, all with a different feel but the same underlying dreamy synthy soul tones. From there I plan to combine my love for R&B and Dance music into my next project with my own micro-genre called R&D, “Rhythm & Dance.” For JENNY VOSS, the magic is just getting started, and I am SO EXCITED.

What do you think is the biggest challenge facing artists today?
Like me, most artists have to work a full time job to fund their passions. Have we ever been able to give our true skills 100% of our energy? What will happen once you do give music 100%? Why do we let the fear of money get in the way of our truest life? I am thrilled that I’m about to find out. Most artists don’t make the jump out of fear. Today, like most days, I choose to be fearless. I have learned that my entire purpose is to write songs and create and I can’t wait to see where this journey takes me. Why not give it a try?
