Meet Jenny Schlief Morgan of Super Vague in Downtown Los Angeles

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jenny Schlief Morgan.

Jenny, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
What does several rejection letters and a few failed businesses look like? Pretty stylish actually. I’ve had a mediocre art career, a store that did everything right and ethically, and created a slew of other endeavors. I’m now a personal wardrobe consultant, which means I orchestrate and source everything from closet fixtures to outfits to garments.

I get electrified when I’m standing in someone’s closet and they tell me how much their life has changed. How? Because we’ve worked on finding out who they are through their wardrobe, or daily costume, to be the person they’ve always dreamed of being outside without sacrificing who they really are inside.

Has it been a smooth road?
The road to owning a business is rewarding but in no way smooth. Having an idea is 20% of starting a business, you gotta walk the walk and test it in the real world which can be pretty harsh. All the moving parts from bookkeeping to managing people has and is constantly keeping me on my toes. Whenever you are creating something, it’s always a challenge and anyone who says it’s easy is lucky, rich or dumb.

So, as you know, we’re impressed with Super Vague: Office of Style – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
We are constantly sold to, berated about how to look and what to wear, that we never take the time to look at the individual. I’m your special fashion spirit guide, negotiating you through the ever-changing fashion landscape. I make choices with you, helping you make better decisions based on my years of experience in people and clothing.

I’m different because unlike other subscription or remote styling companies, they make you fill out a form and send you a box of garbage. I want you to maximize what you currently have, buy things ethically that are made with care, all within your budget.

I’m now training others to do what I do with a cohesive group who cares for others the way I do. I’m building an agency full of talented, thoughtful people who love fashion and want to share the confidence of a badass wardrobe, and make knowing how to effortlessly get dressed in the morning, accessible to everyone.

Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
I love the diversity and access to just about anything I want. I once had a driver tell me I would never get bored here, there’s always something to get into. He was right.

Everything is so spread out! I’m in the car a lot when I’m shopping, consigning or meeting with clients in their homes, and it is a drag because I’m a very efficient person. Traffic seems to not care about time.
