Meet Jenny Chang of Vowlá in Marina del Rey

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jenny Chang.

So, before we jump into specific questions, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I’m a manic entrepreneur, some call me ‘The Magnet of Experiences’. My newest and most innovative venture is Vowlá- an engaging and interactive powerful wedding planning application that helps guide couples into the proper wedding planning journey in the palm of their hands. The enlightenment of the application came to me when I hit rock bottom in my career. Funny enough, I was at the ‘peak,’ of my success — had flourishing companies, planned parties like Gatzby, and lived my best life. Unfortunately, that’s the opposite of how 90% of my industry (Couples, Vendors & Planners) lived, and this reality dimmed my light. I found too many problems in the wedding world: problems of limited resources, problems of missed-connections, problems of all the lack of luxury, and lack of client’s financial abundance to bring their deserving wedding to life. I even predicted the problem of a decline in career opportunities for all future wedding planners. The ‘problems,’ I discovered encouraged me to solution the very outcome that Vowlá shares with the world, today.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
One time, I almost passed out on my conference table from crying so hard (and I never cry… AHEM) I actually thought I was going to break my collar bone from all the bawling. So, to answer your question: No. My journey has been ‘anything,’ but a smooth road. It’s full of turbulence, deceptive people, unpredictability, crossroads, and tower moments– but it’s what shapes the journey. The journey of solving all the problems that dim the world. The pursuit of attracting and building up a family of believers. The pursuit to ‘create’ other ‘creators.’ Lastly, the pursuit of changing the world for YOU.

I’m a god damn superhero, and my power is to endure your challenges, so I can observe, calculate and create the future ‘we,’ deserve.

Vowlá – what should we know? What do you do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
The tripod of my establishments (Jenny Chang, ROCKNEVENTS, and Vowlá) revolves the production of the wedding world – each of which disrupts the industry. The Jenny Chang company specializes in 1% of the wedding market through the manifesting of event productions, ROCKNEVENTS that dominates the event production sector, and Vowlá that’s designed to spread Luxury to the 90% of couples, growth in enterprises and the pursuit of more wedding planning careers.

Through the art of ‘listening’, I am on my way to solving all the problems found in my industry while also getting lost in the fun of party planning.

What is “success” or “successful” for you?
I define ‘success’ when those around me are succeeding — at least the ones that are capable of breaking the boundaries of their limitations. I’m a leader of my craft, world, beliefs, and brands, and I crave, only, to surround myself with other leaders. Leaders I can influence, and that I can be influenced by. From my interns that wake at 5 AM to pursue their passions, associates that believe in growth, directors that adapt to ‘change,’ and my founding partners that share the honor in spreading ‘Love,’ into this world through my dreams.

They/We are the success.
