So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
Born and raised in Los Angeles, CA, JennyT Boutique started in November 2015. I had become a new mother and I wanted to generate extra revenue to secure my son’s future. Although JennyT Boutique started with the aspirations of making money, it has now evolved into a full brand and community. I have always had a passion for fashion and beauty.

My goal was to find a way to incorporate both, and that’s when I decided to sell hair extensions with the addition of fashion accessories. My mission is to empower women making them feel beautiful. Encourage women to believe in themselves, love themselves, and to never doubt themselves. JennyT is about helping women align beauty with fashion while owning your identity with confidence. Adding beauty, class, and sass to your overall swag.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
No, it has not been a smooth road but definitely a rewarding one. When you become an entrepreneur, you take a risk not knowing what the results will be. You learn to trust the process and persevere despite the challenges you encounter. Some struggles I’ve faced are buying inventory and it never sells and not having enough capital to continue buying more inventory.

Please tell us about JennyT Boutique.
My business specializes in hair extensions, mink eyelashes, and fashion accessories. JennyT is known for unique pieces and providing quality over quantity. My brand offers integrity, we are who we say we are, and if I’m rocking it, I’m selling it. I am most proud of being in business going on five years this November. Statistics say, most people flop within the first year of having a business. I am grateful for all of my clients, who believe in me. What sets me apart from others is I genuinely enjoy what I do, and I am very passionate about my brand and impacting the lives of others.

If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?
I honestly don’t believe I would’ve done anything differently because everything I did and how I did it has taught me a lot as an entrepreneur who had no background in business. The more you’re in business, the more you know, and the more you know, the more you and your business will grow. No one starts perfect or knows it all; they simply learn along the way.
