Thanks for sharing your story with us Jennifer. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
Over 2o years ago, I started Floral Art from my house in Venice, CA. The business organically grew and over time, I moved it into larger studio spaces, then to a big retail storefront on Abbot Kinney Blvd (Venice). In addition to florals for individual deliveries, events and weddings, I got into designing modern, nature-inspired furniture and products.
I’ve been obsessed ever since! At this time, we also started floral design classes for the public. After almost 10 years of retail on AK and in need of more production space, we moved to our current Hayden Tract location, which is close to 6,000 sq ft. We still do all of the same services, including the classes, but much larger events. We do retail pop-ups from time to time as well.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Ha, no! Understanding how to manage people took a hot minute. Not mention, the constant mental and emotional stretching necessary to operate a business successfully without a business background. As a creative, I sought help from all kinds of consultants. I did learn from them, but ultimately, I believe, you have to grasp a great enough understanding of business so that you can make decisions on your own.

Floral Art specializes in modern floral, event and home design. Whether, we’re creating a custom floral wall, wedding flowers, or an individual centerpiece, we design it especially for space it’s going in, as well as the brand or people it’s aesthetically representing. I love translating an idea, theme, place or color into floral design and inspiring people on how flowers can be extensions of our personal style.
