Meet Jennelle Wax of Bella Ballroom Dance Studio in Orange County

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jennelle Wax.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Jennelle. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
All my life I’ve been singing, acting, and dancing. Even as a child and through my teens, I was on a stage being featured at special events or starring in musical productions. I also had a flair for business and developed an entrepreneurial spirit, a quality I acquired from my father. Still, I loved to perform and right after high school, I discovered ballroom dancing.

I instantly fell in love with it! I trained with renowned dancers, competed at a professional level, performed at prestigious venues across the country, and eventually became a certified instructor. Over time, my inner entrepreneur began to grow and merge with my love for ballroom dance. That’s when I started Bella Ballroom Dance Studio!

I started Bella Ballroom because I felt there was a segment of the population that wasn’t being catered to by traditional dance studios: Those preparing for weddings and special events. In many cases, dance studios want to start these clients out at the “beginning,” making sure they have the fundamentals down perfectly. At Bella Ballroom, we’re able to give clients the skills they need to look great dancing right away and help make their big day one to remember.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Like all new businesses and entrepreneurial pursuits, there are typical obstacles to overcome like marketing, building a client base, and working on a limited budget. Also, dance studios, in general, are known to be risky ventures and many of them close down not long after they open.

However, because of our singular focus on the wedding and special event market, coupled with our commitment to serve our clients’ needs over our own, we’ve been fortunate to find success from day one. For over five years, we’ve continued to innovate and grow in every aspect of our business in order to bring the best dance instruction experience to everyone who comes to our studio.

We are constantly improving our website to better inform potential clients, sharing and connecting with couples through social media, and working toward expanding the Bella Ballroom brand to reach new markets and areas in need of what we offer. Of course, with growth comes more challenges, but that’s what it takes to be the #1 dance studio in Orange County!

Bella Ballroom Dance Studio – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
Bella Ballroom specializes in dance lessons for weddings and special events. We provide new dancers with the skills they need for their most special moments. Our instructors are friendly, positive, and always ready to make sure our clients are having a great time learning how to dance. No one else provides the level of professionalism, enthusiasm, and fun of dance instruction the way we do.

We’re proud to be The Knot’s “Best of Weddings Hall of Fame” winner and the recipient of Wedding Wire’s “Couples Choice Award.” We’ve also been featured on TLC, LA Times, OC Register, and Style Me Pretty. We love helping our clients look and feel confident on the dance floor and our hundreds of glowing reviews and posts of thanks and gratitude prove it!

What is “success” or “successful” for you?
For me, I find that success comes in realizing your vision, your philosophy, or your dream into reality. I’ve been fortunate to have achieved this with Bella Ballroom and my vision of providing dance as both a service as well as a recreation.

I also find success in the little things: Hearing the cheers from a couple who nailed their routine, sharing a beautiful first-dance photo or video posted from one of our clients, or seeing the smile on a new dancer’s face as they learn their first steps.

Eventually, I hope to find continued success with the business by expanding and reaching out to more and more people. But until then, it’s enough to simply share the successes our clients experience with us every day!
