Meet Jeff Beyer of Big Rig Media in Toluca Lake

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jeff Beyer.

Jeff, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
In the late 90’s, I became a business manager for an independent record label, Alias Records.

During that time, I became fascinated with technology, and computer usage was starting to become more mainstream, I spent my evenings getting trained in computer building and network engineering. I built the first e-commerce site for Alias Records which immediately resulted in sales. At that point, I knew that this was the career path I wanted to take.

In 2000, I launched a web development company, Big Rig Media, which specialized in website design, graphic design and network support. As there weren’t that many skilled web developers at that time, our business skyrocketed. We acquired clients such as celebrity interior designer, David Phoenix, renowned jewelry designer Devon Leigh and noted construction company, R.D. Olson.

We soon became very diversified. As our business continued to grow, it became clear we needed to focus on areas of specialization. Our industry platforms became more focused on solutions for private aviation, outdoor hospitality and unions. Today, we offer a suite of services that includes branding, website and graphic design, copywriting, web hosting, social media and digital marketing. With our persistence, we’ve become a sought-after leader in these industries.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I can’t imagine any company achieving success without regularly surmounting challenges. Early on, I experienced the challenge of working with a partner, but soon realized I needed to run my own company. I’m now the sole owner of Big Rig Media with a wonderful team who continues to grow with me.

Our challenges today are simply keeping up with an industry that is constantly changing and evolving. Big Rig Media has experienced over 30 percent growth per year. Our continual growth drives us to stay at the cutting-edge of technology so we can successfully meet the diverse needs of our clients.

Please tell us about Big Rig Media.
Proudly, we are a US based company serving over 1,000 clients in all 50 states and 10 countries. Our key personnel have been with us for over a decade, so they’ve come to know our clients well. We’re known for our exemplary customer care. I think that’s what sets us apart.

Do you look back particularly fondly on any memories from childhood?
Family vacations with my family. I came from a divorced family so I got to experience two vacations a year. With my Dad, we did outdoor activity’s such as camping and fishing. With my Mom and grandparents, we did trips to Catalina Island where we did beach activities such as snorkeling and volleyball.
