Today we’d like to introduce you to Jeanette Legg.
Hi Jeanette, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Hi Guys! I am a General Contractor in LA and one of the only female GCs in a very male dominated industry. I am a co-partner of Restaurant Renovations Inc also known as Visionary Builders. I am very passionate about what I do and I live by my word.
Our company was born after my partner, Dan, and I completed a Beautiful Restaurant and Bar build out in West Hollywood where we worked together and I led the project from start to finish with him. We loved working together and decided to join forces in Early 2020 to concentrate on a solution to fill a missing gap in our industry. We decided to specialize in Restaurants and Commercial build outs offering customers complete support from a “napkin idea” to inception through to completion.
We both come from hard-working families that have encouraged our strong work ethic, honesty and integrity. Having a combined 30 years of experience in development in both commercial and high-end residential construction and development we make a great team. Dan has his hands in sales, customer service, project support and team building; while I keep the business and projects organized and on time honing in on the fine details from start to finish and leading the entitlement process for a lot of our clients.
We always say we love what we do and do what we love. We are both foodies with big hearts and entrepreneurial spirits, always looking out for the best interests of our customers and our community even if we lose out on a job. We aren’t in the industry to take advantage of anyone’s lack of knowledge or vulnerability like many do. It is important to us to have a good synergy with our clients and projects when we team up with them, it’s got to be the right fit for everyone. We live by our word and are proud of our great reputation.
We enjoy making other people happy and building places that businesses can strive for years to come. We partnered up two months before the pandemic hit which was a true test to our partnership and our new business venture together. We have had tough times but have come out stronger than ever, working to build a long-term sustainable business model and adjusting to the ever-changing landscape of this industry. Our main niche is the restaurant industry as it is rare to find a contractor, let alone a female one, that has deep knowledge of the restaurant world in not only designing but building and even knowing how to operate one. Our other division, Visionary Builders, is also thriving as we have teamed up with some fantastic designers that we are working on some great residential and commercial projects with.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Life is never easy but that’s what makes it so great. I truly believe everything is meant to happen for a reason and one road leads you to another. Everyday is a learning experience.
I would say the pandemic was an unknown that shifted our focus really into the present and adjusting to the day to day changes in the industry. The supply and demand as well as the constant price increases have been really difficult on us and our customers. The lack of workforce has also been pretty impactful for our business and those we have built. It just forces us to be more creative and resourceful to meet budgets and timelines.
Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
There really isn’t anyone we have met that specializes in the niche of Restaurant Build outs and knows the industry more than we do as a whole. We have met people who do “parts” of it but cannot lead from inception to finish and support through the entire process like we do. I offer insight, strong resources and a valuable 20 years of experience alone in these industries that help our clients get the most out of their spaces, their budgets and their business.
