Meet JD Jones of Press Brothers Juicery & Kitchen

Today we’d like to introduce you to JD Jones.

Thanks for sharing your story with us JD. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
The Press Brothers story began on the rural plains outside Abilene, Kansas where my mother, Linda, instilled a deep respect for the effort it takes to cultivate and harvest organic fruits and vegetables by hand.

Our sense of adventure eventually led us to strike out West, but my brother and I never lost sight of home, and quickly began seeking out the freshest produce that LA’s renowned farmers markets have to offer.

In the Spring of 2011, we began experimenting with bold combinations of cold pressed fruits and vegetables in our home kitchen.

Encouraged by family, friends, and neighbors, we proudly opened our first brick and mortar juice bar on the Broadway side of downtown’s historic Grand Central Market in the Fall of 2014.

Now, with the launch of our flagship location at 5913 Franklin Avenue, we are proud to offer a full menu of healthy, delicious, organic eatables to the diverse community of Los Angeles natives, adopted citizens, and visitors alike. Thanks, Los Angeles! Thanks, Mom!!

Has it been a smooth road?
Never having run a small business before, there are many challenges you don’t think of when you’re standing in a kitchen creating a new juice blend! Navigating the Los Angeles building, safety, and health departments before, during, and after construction was definitely a steep learning curve. Add on top of that the stringent requirements necessary for a USDA organic certification and it can all feel a little overwhelming. Luckily Press Brothers is surrounded by a competent and passionate support team!

So, as you know, we’re impressed with Press Brothers Juicery & Kitchen – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
Press Brothers started as a cold pressed juice company operating out of a 100 square foot stall at Grand Central Market in downtown LA, but with the opening of our new Flagship store in Franklin Village, Press Brothers has grown into a full spectrum restaurant with a breakfast, lunch and dinner menu featuring hearty organic, certified organic, and non-animal product offerings. We are known for our unique juice blends and smoothies, one of a kind soups and creative salads with homemade dressings, as well as our frozen cold pressed juice “Press Pops” and our coconut milk soft serve treats.

Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
We love the people! LA is a perfect blend of transplants, visitors, and natives, many of whom share the healthy, happy outlook that is the cornerstone of our approach to business and life!

The only drawback is how long it takes to drive the dogs from Hollywood to the beach on the weekends!
