Meet Jazmine Valencia of JV Agency in West Hollywood

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jazmine Valencia.

So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I started from the bottom, literally as an Intern at The Island Def Jam Music Group in the digital marketing department. I worked my way up to the head of the department working with musicians such as The Killers and Shawn Mendes.

Fast forward to 2019, I’m the founder of JV Agency, a marketing company handling campaigns for all levels of musicians and genres. Now I lead and advise some of music’s biggest artists of all genres, I help grow careers for some of the most talented musicians today using an artist-focused marketing approach to growth.

I also love to mentor young women in the music industry and help pave the wave for the future leaders!

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
I think a challenge we phase is the uncertainty of our industry, while the music itself will never go away, finding ways of monetizing it can be challenging from time to time.

So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the JV Agency story. Tell us more about the business.
We are a music marketing agency that handles bespoke campaigns to help artists advance in their careers and take them to the next level! We handle all aspects of marketing for a single, album, or video release.

JV Agency prides itself on being connectors and culture creators. Our mission is to bridge cultural and geographic divides between makers and users. We use technology as a catalyst for positive change and leverage our vast reach to give a platform to connect.

Has luck played a meaningful role in your life and business?
Luck has played a big role in my life and business. When I began my company, it was by pure serendipity and by “doing favors” for artists that I’ve known for years.

It was luck and hard work that has given me the ability to follow my dreams and to get great at what I love doing. I was able to make a career out of something I am passionate about and work becomes so much easier and purposeful.
