Meet Jazmine Medina of Alpha Woman in West L.A

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jazmine Medina.

So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
Growing up, I’ve always had that entrepreneur mindset, I always wanted to be the one in charge and to lead others. I was born in Inglewood, CA (The City of Champions). My inspiration really came from my Mother and grandmother. My mother was incarcerated when I was seven and after she did her time, she had to start from scratch, from there I really watched her grow into the successful business woman she is today.

My grandmother took care of my brother and I while my mother was away, she also took care of other kids as well. My grandmother was a super woman to me, she cooked, cleaned, and did laundry. We didn’t have much money so my clothes and shoes would come from Yard sales and the swap meet. There were times where people made fun of my shoes and clothes but It didn’t matter to me, I always told myself that my grandmother tried her best. Let’s just say growing up watching my grandmother and mother really helped me become the person I am today. I’ve always had that Women empowering mindset.

Has it been a smooth road?
There are times where I want to give up because it’s not easy at all, you have to really be committed and put yourself out there. I was very anti-social so it was pretty hard at first and there were months where it was really slow and I begin to tell myself “what if people lost interest” or “maybe they didn’t like it”, but I know with every business comes ups and downs, it’s not always going to be a successful day.

So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Alpha Woman story. Tell us more about the business.
I specialize in body contouring, it’s an Ultrasonic machine that helps burn fat, contour the body, tone, and tighten. I also have butt suction cups, sauna blanket, and wood therapy. It goes by sessions, It is noninvasive, There’s zero downtime, and it’s totally painless.

I am most proud of my accomplishments with this company, I know it’s just the beginning and I hope my business does expand but I am really happy that people are starting to notice my business. I believe what sets me apart from others is that not too many people in the LA area do what I do (Body Contouring) this is something new to the people because for so long it’s only been shown to women in the plastic surgery industry. People usually pay $300-$1,000 for this service so I wanted to offer it at an affordable price, I believe there should be something affordable that can help those struggling with weight loss so that is why I began to do it for an affordable price.

How do you think the industry will change over the next decade?
If God wants to, I would say I’d see my industry blowing up in the next 5-10 years. I would really love to expand and help others become their own bosses as well. There’s a lot of money to be made out here and there’s always space for all of us to win. I want to help encourage other young people like myself to want to do something good. I want to share my story and struggles so they know it doesn’t come easy but you’ve got to keep going no matter how hard it gets.
