Meet Javon Carey

Today we’d like to introduce you to Javon Carey.

Javon Carey

Hi Javon, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I began my video journey in Detroit around 2012-2013 during the early days of social media. Creating viral memes, I caught the attention of celebrities like Keyshia Cole and Waka Flocka. With the rise of Vine and 15-second Instagram videos, I maintained consistency, growing my following to 100k. In 2014, I moved to Houston for a new environment and collaborations, living with my dad until social media became a sustainable income. In LA since 2016, I’ve had opportunities to meet Kevin Hart, Jamie Foxx, and Snoop Dogg. After almost eight years in LA, I even received a call from Will Smith himself.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
The primary struggle lies in maintaining consistency in an industry flooded with aspiring creators and influencers. Social media, once exclusive, is now open to everyone. The realization that my content is unique and irreplicable carved my distinct path. Navigating a city where growth is challenging and gaining visibility is tough adds to the hurdles, along with the financial strain of living in LA.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I’m an actor, producer, writer, editor, and comedian. My livelihood comes from producing content across multiple social media platforms, all while pursuing my dream to be in movies. I specialize in creating content in a unique twist, whether originating from my ideas or reshaping existing ones for a fresh perspective. Recognized for my facial expressions in videos, I take pride in my ability to effortlessly grow and shape social media platforms. Despite setbacks and restarts, my distinctive consistency and drive set me apart as I continuously generate waves of inspiring ideas.

So maybe we end on discussing what matters most to you and why?
Empowering others with a unique and creative approach to influence stands out. Today, many aspire to be Internet famous rather than embodying genuine creativity and becoming a role models. It’s about being someone people can genuinely admire, not just another influencer that’s here today and gone tomorrow.
