Today we’d like to introduce you to Jason Woolfolk.
So, before we jump into specific questions, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I was walking my dogs at 4am, and I thought that I should make portraits of people stuck in their homes. I emailed a few friends and they all said yes. The images were posted to Instagram with an invitation to participate and the response has been terrific. I have shot about 50 portraits so far, and am still booking sessions.
Has it been a smooth road?
There have been some logistical challenges as far as lighting and folks being on multiple levels above the ground. Otherwise, the challenges have been to fight off the demons of self-doubt.
We’d love to hear more about your work and what you are currently focused on. What else should we know?
I tend to shoot environmental portraits. I am looking forward to seeing where this project is headed as the nature of our quarantine changes and eventually ends.
Is our city a good place to do what you do?
LA is a great place to photograph people. Here, everyone wants their picture taken!
