Meet Jason Gant of Gant Architects in Downtown Los Angeles

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jason Gant.

So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I’m a New Orleans native which is where I attended the Tulane School of Architecture. After completing a five-year Master of Architecture program, I moved to San Diego where I worked in a medium size Commercial and Residential Architecture firm for 4 years. After interning for 4 years in San Diego and getting my hours for architecture licensure, I moved to Los Angeles where I began to do architectural drafting software teaching and consulting. Over the next five years I consulted for several Architecture, Engineering and Construction Companies all over southern California. In 2011, I decided to take all of my skills and start my own firm specializing in Architecture and Architectural Software Consulting. Since, then it’s been a blast to work with home owners, and several design firms.

Has it been a smooth road?
It’s been great. As a small business, it’s always important to keep cash flow going. I address that issue by combining some of my larger government clients that take longer to pay with some smaller and medium sized clients that usually pay quicker.

We’d love to hear more about your business.
About 70% of our work is Software Consulting for Autodesk Revit, Navisworks and AutoCAD drafting softwares. Without gloating, I would say we are one of the best software consultants and Trainers in Southern California. The other 30% of our work is Retail and Residential Architecture. Our architectural design projects are great because we show that great design, if done correctly, doesn’t have to have expensive construction costs. Simple modern space design can give the client a beautiful product that won’t break the bank.

Is our city a good place to do what you do?
I think our city is a fantastic because it is home to some of the largest and best Architecture design firms in the world. There are also several smaller companies that are always growing and producing new, innovative design.
