Meet Jamie Ruiz

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jamie Ruiz.

Hi Jamie, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I was born and raised in Miami, FL. I grew up dancing (since the age of three) and haven’t stopped since then. I danced in dance studios when I was younger, at a performing arts high school after that, and when I graduated high school, I danced for the Miami Heat basketball team for five years. After that, I decided I wanted to move to LA and dance professionally. I’ve had a pretty successful dance career. I’ve toured the world with well-known artists such as Pitbull, Tyga, and Becky G. I even performed with JLo at the Superbowl in 2020 right before the world shut down for the pandemic.

Throughout most of my adult life, I had been on a healing journey. I used to struggle with anxiety, depression, self-doubt, and a long list of other things that weren’t allowing me to live my life to its fullest potential. As I went through the healing journey and hired a life coach for myself to help me with my own personal development, I knew that at some point, I wanted to help others do the same. I always told myself I would step into this chapter of my life “after dance.”

Well, low and behold, the world shut down at the beginning of 2021 for the pandemic and I quickly realized that “after dance” was NOW!

During quarantine, I really sat with myself and decided it was time for me to step into this next chapter of my life. I put my head down and worked to clear every limiting belief that told me I couldn’t start my own coaching business. And now, here I am! I have a growing business where I am able to help people on their own spiritual and healing journeys. I really feel like I am living in my purpose and I’m having so much fun doing it!

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It definitely has not been a smooth road. Dance was all I had ever known and all that anyone ever knew me for. So when I “came out” as a spiritual life coach, it was difficult getting myself and others to really believe me and take me seriously. Many limiting beliefs showed up for me and I had to reprogram each one and learn how to believe in myself, trust myself, and step into an entirely new identity for myself.

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
What I’m most known for is that I am a Life Coach who is also a professional dancer. Some posts on my social media are videos of me dancing on stage at concerts or festivals, and other posts are me promoting my one on one coaching sessions or a breathwork class or a manifestation workshop. I think it makes me unique that I still dance professionally. I like to show people that you do not have to put yourself in a box or specialize in ONE thing. You can be many things and you can excel at all of them.

Before we go, is there anything else you can share with us?
As I continue to grow, so does my business. I continue to invest in myself to learn new modalities and gifts to share with my clients. Soon I will be offering Reiki healings and Intuitive readings as offers in my business.
