Meet Jamie Aispuro of Xoxo Arrangements

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jamie Aispuro.

Hi Jamie, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
For the past few years, I have found an interest in business. My father inspired me to start my own when he successfully opened up his boutique in Mexico. He always gave me the most informative and eye-opening talks and I always found them kind of dreading until I got a taste and knew I enjoyed being my own boss. I spent a lot of time brainstorming the “perfect” business and most of the things I began I soon realized they weren’t for me. I’ve been known to quit many of the projects I’ve started because they simply weren’t my calling. I didn’t want to settle for something that made me semi-happy. I wanted to wake up everyday and feel excited to get to work and I finally found that. I combined two things that I truly enjoyed doing, baking and being creative. During my free time, I always loved to whip up something sweet and add my own touches and creativity to it. After a lot of thinking, I began to plan my business, a lot of people think it’s an easy thing to do but not quite. I had so much to consider and so much to invest. There were many times where I felt scared, thinking “Will I get all of this money back?” “What if people don’t support me?” “What if I’m not as good as I think?” But put all the behind me for a moment and just decided to proceed. After months of planning, getting all my materials, ideas, name and more, I finally decided to announce my business and I felt so nervous but so relieved. Like, it’s finally out there, the bandaid has been ripped off and now it’s just up to working on growing this business. I soon started to receive orders and grow little by little, I received support from so many friends and family, even strangers who had trust in my craft. I continue to try and grow my business constantly, always thinking of new ideas and I’m still not where I want to be but I’m working on getting there and I’m enjoying the ride meanwhile. It’s been a journey of mistakes, learning, beautiful & bad experiences but I love it. I’m happy doing what I do.

Can you talk to us more about the challenges?
There was a lot of times where I felt frustrated and even had thoughts of giving up because the competition is so stiff right now. A lot of people have businesses whether they are big or small that are very similar to mine and I felt the pressure of having to be as good as they were even though I’m still fairly new to this. There were also many times where my business sort of hit a pause, I wasn’t growing, I wasn’t receiving orders but with my drive, I knew I had to find new ways to step up my game and attract more customers. Also, many people may think that I just “dip strawberries” but there is a lot that goes into creating those boxes you see. There are many things I had to learn and still have to. It’s all about growth. I have a little goal where I try to learn something new everyday. Therefore, there’s not a day that goes by where my mind isn’t working, even on my days off of doing orders, my mind is working on new ideas and planning for the future.

As you know, we’re big fans of Xoxo Arrangements. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
I make arrangements for all kinds of occasions. From chocolate covered strawberries and other delicious desserts to floral arrangements and of course many other things in the works. My goal is always to make someone smile, whether it be the person purchasing or whether it be for a loved one, I love to be a part of people’s happiness. The whole purpose behind my business is to spread love & joy. I know how it feels to feel special and I also know what it feels like to do that for others and I love the feeling of both. I think that’s what sets me apart, the fact that I do everything with love and good intentions. I’ve gotten a lot of messages from customers saying that my service is exceptional because I take the time to get to know the person and all of their likings. One thing that has always stuck with me is “You are so nice, I’ve dealt with a lot of people who were just so mean and rude” I always want my customers to feel safe and comfortable while communicating with me.

I’m most proud of my work of course and the growth of my skills but I am very proud of being a humble and a down to earth person that anyone can talk to. At the end of the day, I am the face of my business and my service reflects on me and only me. I want people to feel like placing an order with me is a breeze. I want anyone reading this to know two things. One, I will always work with you until you are satisfied and I truly appreciate if you choose to support me and my journey. Two, if you want to start your own business, do it! Life is so short and full of surprises and you should follow your dreams. There’s no dream that is too high. Rip the bandaid off and start as soon as you can. You got this!!

Before we let you go, we’ve got to ask if you have any advice for those who are just starting out?
My biggest advice is be consistent. Post often, I personally wouldn’t buy from someone who posts once a month. I like to see what’s new, I like to see what you have been working on. Always be on top of your business, be ready for your next move, have sales or giveaways to help you grow, interact with your followers and always be nice to your customers. If there’s one thing I wish someone would’ve told me is, people are going to try and bring you down, not everyone is gonna support you, even your closest family and friends. There’s also going to be people who think your work is too expensive or not good enough; they might even try to get you to lower your price or get free things but stand your ground and price your items to whatever you think they are worth and whoever wants to purchase it, will! Your work is worth whatever amount you think it’s worth because it’s YOUR business. Don’t let anyone tell you otherwise.
