Today we’d like to introduce you to James Jones IV.
Hi James, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I dropped out of college from the university of mississippi (ole miss) at 19, i moved across the country with $4,000 to my name during covid times. I applied for 158 jobs & got hired at cadillac of beverly hills my first week living in california with no job history. The first person i ever sold an escalade to was a man name mashari & onur. They bought an escalade, they told me they loved my service so much, that i should come work for them whenever i have the chance. I started working for them, i became their driver for the royal family of dubai for 3 months, an amazing experience, as time went on i learned the ends & outs to car rental / hospitality. From there i brokered deals on their cars, saved up as much as i could from cadillac of beverly hills / working & driving from them, and was eventually able to buy my first lamborghini urus & built from there. With now today across my partners & i, we have a 75 car fleet, private jet rentals, and luxury villas / mansion / estates / penthouses in over 15 states
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Definitely not, i wasn’t prepared for when business can get slow, my second month into owning J&J Hospitality Group, i barely rented out anything, meaning i had to make 75 car payments out of my own pocket & insurance / storage fee
We’ve been impressed with J&J Hospitality Group, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
J&J Hospitality Group isn’t just about renting a nice car out, it’s about making people happy, some people may feel they are never able to afford their dream car, but with J&J Hospitality Group, they can drive their dream car for a 4 day vacation, to see the photos they take, the attention they receive & love getting in it. A business man needing to fly at 3 am & im able to get the jet to him at that very moment he needs. Someone having trouble getting approved for an apartment & me getting them a cheaper price & better location than originally, that’s what J&J Hospitality Group is about
What quality or characteristic do you feel is most important to your success?
persistence,
i lost my grand mother & grandfather, cousins murdered, sentenced to life in prison, but you can’t let it stop you from your day to day, and taking care of your clientele
