Thanks for sharing your story with us James and Emilie. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
We took the leap and decided to create Halcyon Health Direct Primary Care after our experiences practicing in a traditional insurance based health care system. 10-15 minute patient visits, centered around billing and coding for insurance reimbursement does not lend itself to physician or patient satisfaction. This sparked our desire to create a solution that focuses on nurturing the physician-patient relationship in order from patients to achieve their desired health outcomes. Creating this practice from scratch allowed us to rethink what was really truly important for creating healthy communities for our patients without the constraints of traditional insurance based practices.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Fortunately for us, we have had amazing growth since we opened our doors in March 2016. Word of mouth referrals from our patients and their continued support of our practice has allowed us to grow faster than we had expected. Our biggest challenge, and opportunity, was to create new workflows in our practice that are centered on transparency with all of our patients and the community. We utilize a mobile messaging platform that allows seamless asynchronous communication with our patients in addition to providing them real time access to all of physician notes, laboratory and radiology results in real time. We’re always fine tuning these processes and look forward to continually adding value with this transparency in the future.

Halcyon Health Direct Primary Care is a membership based family medicine practice that specializes in creating trusting relationships with our patients so we can help them achieve their health goals. We are most proud of being able to bring transparency and trust in the healthcare market which is notorious for a history of opacity. What sets us apart from others is one simple thing. We have the ability and resources to take time to listen and communicate with our patients.
