Meet Jalen Thomas of Certified FX Trading

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jalen Thomas.

Jalen, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
We all have a story, it’s our job to discover it or create it for ourselves. Hi, my name is Jalen Thomas I am a 25 years old entrepreneur and self-taught forex trader, I am from a small town called Pinebluff Arkansas, & while it may not have been the best environment, I am appreciative of the people and values I have been taught throughout my life. I began trading forex March of 2020 due to the covid-19 pandemic while finishing my Bachelors of Science in Nutrition at the University of Central Arkansas, I did not achieve instant success at trading. During my first month, I lost over $5000 in the market due to lack of experience and joining “forex” groups who cares more about recruiting than actually teaching people a high-value skill. But the early losses only fueled me to understand the market completely. Being an avid gamer geek, I took it as my “noob” tuition. Sleepless nights, reading different material, practicing different trading styles, I’ve tried it all until I finally found my niche which was the art of swing trading. Looking back at my trading journey, I had to develop more than just my intellect to the market but it began to show me what I was lacking personally as well, it showed my lack of discipline, it developed my patience to where I don’t react to every subtle movement of the market, it turned me into someone I can say I’m proud of today, I created Certified FX because I wanted to give traders an authentic experience while being able to avoid the same mistakes I’ve made. Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
The road was anything but smooth and I would say the most difficult part of trading for me was being able to break down the psychological aspect of it. Being a Pisces, I can be a bit emotional in my decision making but once I obtained the ability to break the psychological barrier, my trading increased exceedingly.

Forex trading is all about risk and I am a “go big or go home” type of person. What helped me in planning for any potential risk was my knowledge of the overall market. I understood how much risk I took on each trade compared to my reward. When I seen that my reward outweighed any risk that I may take on, it helped me plan out each move strategically and with precision.
