Meet Jake of Always Angry in Burbank

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jake Always Angry.

Jake, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
Always Angry started from just having my love of fashion and the current state of culture. I started with a skate team back in the day called “PROJECT SK8” funny shit I know, I’m now 27 years old, but it was a bunch of late middle school kids just repping on myspace, and stenciling our blanks with spray cans. From there my love just grew further and further to skate brands like, Emerica, zero, kr3w etc etc. I would say that wave, and that time of my life still heavily inspires me to this day, along with just current fire shit out here, OH! and movies. Many failures and brands later, I grew always angry Feb 2018 and have just been pushing it ever since.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
No road is smooth, been through multiple brands and multiple different conceptual names. I’m not going to bore you with the Boohoo story, but yes I’ve sat on product, yes I’ve been overly confident on shit.. it just happens. Its that struggle that teaches you how to build foundation though, and a sense of pride in your brand and your character behind the brand.

We’d love to hear more about your business.
I manage, own, ship, do everything always angry myself. I guess im most proud of just being out there and staying consistent, its important to me to drop clothes and keep putting out (affordable) content for the people. What would set me apart is the name, our aesthetic of youth building culture, and true love of the game.

What were you like growing up?
A regular kid. I liked video games, skating, music, basketball, shoes..wrestling. Regular kid shit. Was never shy, and always welcomed people with open arms. Went to a lot of church and shit, but learned how to play the bass out of it so that was cool.
