Hi JaiNishia, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
Love and Happiness Sanctuary started in 2018 after being diagnosed with PCOS and my doctor’s recommendation to eliminate toxins in my house.
Savage Finery will launch in 2023. We are embracing everyday elegance and reducing the need to purchase jewelry pieces often.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
As a business owner, you have to make a lot of decisions every day about branding, product development and more. If you are not mentally prepared, the daily task of chasing your dreams will leave you feeling lonely and confused about your purpose. Surround yourself with like-minded business friends, mentors, and groups that not only see your vision but can pour into you when you are down.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
At Savage Finey, we will be collaborating with local designers to bring a curated limited edition collection. Our second collection will debut designs by the Talented Keonna Smith of Ks Gems.
Are there any apps, books, podcasts, blogs or other resources you think our readers should check out?
My favorite podcasts to listen to during the week are A Girl Ceo by Ronne Brown, Self Care IRL by Ty Alexander, and Therapy for Black Girls. During the weekend, I like to listen to NPR AND Foundr.
My favorite books right now are How We Heal by Alexandra Elle, Black Girl Call by Jasmine Mans, and Self Care for Black Women by Oludara Adeeyo.
My favorite apps are The Five Minute Journal, Chopra, and Breathe.
