Today we’d like to introduce you to Jade and Rusty Valore.
So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
Rad Coffee was an idea that we came up with to sell what we love for a living as well as do what we love for a living, together! From a little pop-up shop to now a storefront (our second location coming Fall 2020) one of the top coffee trucks in Southern California and an online store featuring our own clothing brand… we’ve hustled our way from the bottom to get where we are today and it’s definitely just the beginning.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
The road is only as smooth as you will make it. We’d be lying if we said it hasn’t been challenging. Running a business from the ground up, especially being parents to 2 little ones…having to learn a lot as we go. Even now, five years in, we still learn new things daily that we have to figure out. But this is still the beginning of the Rad legacy & thankfully, we work so amazing together that we’re able to brainstorm out everything A-Z to come up with the best solution!
Rad Coffee – what should we know? What do you do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
We’re dubbed the Misfits of the Coffee World. We are constantly coming up with innovative ways to launch new products, whether it’s a drink or a lapel pin. Something like an average cup of Joe has been transformed into creativity inside a cup. Not only are the drinks are our heavy hitters but we also have killer merchandise that is constantly changing! We’ve created an experience when you come into our locations. There’s over 1,000 punk flyers on the wall, music blaring, barista’s killing it behind the counter… it’s definitely something we’ve always imagined being able to hang… now we created for all of you to enjoy 🙂
What is “success” or “successful” for you?
Success doesn’t have an end. You’re constantly pushing the bar to succeed in anything you do, with no doubts.
