Today we’d like to introduce you to Jade Devitt.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
After cutting my teeth in the built environment as an LA-based painting contractor for 20 years, I decided to pivot to real estate. Wanting a new challenge, I earned my real estate license and started working with LA’s boutique brokerage, PLG Estates. I’ve come to serve my clients with great effect. Closing deals in Venice, Palm Springs, Thousand Oaks, and all parts in between with a focus on my hyper-local farm: Silver Lake and Eastside LA
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Being a real estate advisor you find yourself sometimes managing complicated emotions and situations. During the height of the pandemic, every property showing required an individual Covid disclosure. Imagine a hyper-competitive environment where buyers swarmed any well-presented property, and your buyers are forced to return a timely disclosure for every viewing. It added stress to an already tough market for buyers. During this time, I learned great patience and humility, and in the end found all my clients a home during that competitive market.
Thanks – so, what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I specialize in working with home sellers, as well as clients bundling their portfolios for sale and reinvestment into triple net and low headache investments. Last summer, I navigated multiple clients into investments that would provide passive income with less stress. The timing and process of these kinds of sales requires constant communication and adherence to strict timelines and leading all the parties to a shared goal. What I’m most proud of is when a client lets me know how pivotal I was in serving their needs and guiding them through a difficult transition with a great client experience, where, in the end, they feel good and protected. What sets me apart is my flawless communication, the willingness to go the extra mile, and, ultimately, speaking the language of my clients. As a long-time Eastside Silver Lake resident, I have always resonated with the creative tenor and vibe of the area’s residents.
If we knew you growing up, how would we have described you?
I was a very shy kid raised by a single mom. Born in Montana, we moved to Tacoma, Washington, when I was 6 years old. We ended up moving a lot over my adolescent years. I was a loner and an introvert until around age 14 when skateboarding and punk rock music changed my life. The Do-It-Yourself ethos influenced me to develop rapidly, opening up a new, more confident expression of my personality. This led directly to pursuing music and becoming a musician at age 16, and later contacting success when I was a touring musician with a major label record deal in the 90’s.
