Meet Izzy Garcia

Today we’d like to introduce you to Izzy Garcia.

So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
Well, story starts in Phoenix, AZ. Born and Raised. I came to LA hoping to continue my education at FIDM as I always thought I was going to be a designer. Moving to LA made me realize my love for fashion design wasn’t as big as just creating illustrations of beautiful pin-ups, women, and anything that represented old Hollywood glamour!!!

I was lucky and blessed to get a following from people who loved and had an appreciation for my art and the high glamour it represented. I began to get commissioned requests, collaboration request and that brought me more exposure.

Has it been a smooth road?
Never, haha! What is a journey without any bumps along the way? If it was easy, I don’t think I would have as much passion as I have for creating my art. sometimes you feel the appreciation of your pieces but not always do they sell. It can be daunting, but it is all worth it because you are still creating whether your art sells or not!

We’d love to hear more about what you do.
I do one of a kind pieces. Not one of my pinups is going to be the same as the next. I generally do not mass reproduce (With the exception of the sticker and small prints) my art pieces because I like the idea of having one original piece going to a potential client. I specialize in bringing pinup glamour through painting, drawing, and sketching.

I am known for my funny, cute, fetish, naughty themed pinups, all cute with a little comedy touch. I am mostly proud of being able to see my art get a generally good reaction from people, my art is all in good fun it may shock at times but not to be taken too seriously!!!

How do you think the industry will change over the next decade?
All I hope is that the art industry grows and keeps allowing artists that depend on art to keep food on the table grows. There are many talented artists out there, there is room for growth, monetarily and mentally for each and every artist.
