Meet Isabella Fanciulli of La Aeaea

Today we’d like to introduce you to Isabella Fanciulli.

Hi Isabella, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
Last January, my husband and I moved back to LA from Italy, where my husband is from. We were settling into our apartment, and unfortunately COVID hit. Needless to say, timing wasn’t on our side and we found ourselves in a challenging situation. During the summer, looking for an inspiration, I came across several jewelry options that triggered the idea of starting a new hobby, making bead necklaces. That’s when the hunt for the right style and right materials began. I did research, asked questions, studied how-to videos, and started making necklaces. I realized I really loved this new hobby and wanted to share my passion with others as well. That’s when I decided that this new activity had to be my new job. I only liked using high-quality materials to give my creations the perfect image. I knew that fresh water pearls were going to be the protagonist of my jewelry. I’ve always liked pearls; however, they’ve always seemed a little stale to me. I knew I wanted to reinterpret them with a much modern twist. Finally, I needed a signature to add on each necklace…and rose quartz came to me immediately, as a symbol of love. A friend’s mom had given me a rose quartz shortly before I met my husband and I’ve never taken it out of my purse. I had all I needed. In regards to the name, my husband and cousin helped me come up with the name of La Aeaea, a mythological island off the coast of Italy. Following the history and significance of Aeaea, I named all of the necklaces after Roman and Greek goddesses, to further empower whoever decides to wear my necklaces. I strongly believe in giving back, so each sale supports The National Organization for Women. Here we are, only seven months later with orders in six different countries and 24 states in America! I am very grateful to be coming out of such a trying time with something that is so special to me. There is always an opportunity behind every corner, especially during times of uncertainty, so I give thanks to everyone that believes in my project. Looking forward to everything the future will bring!

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
It has been pretty smooth, luckily. If COVID had never happened, I would have to be honest with myself and say La Aeaea probably wouldn’t be a thing. Keeping a good mindset and staying positive when my husband and I both weren’t working made it possible to find a different opportunity.

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
La Aeaea is my Jewelry line created during covid, using mostly only freshwater pearls. Everything is made to order, all by me, in mine and my husband’s home. I meticulously hand select each pearl in small batches and all packaging is 100% recyclable. I am proud of my story and that it was very unexpected. It started as a hobby and now the best gift is hearing all the wonderful feedback from my customers. Their messages are so special and I know that is because they understand each piece is made with so much love.

How can people work with you, collaborate with you or support you?
I am now learning how paramount social media is. People posting and tagging is what keeps the name circulating! Plus, I love to see everyone’s different style with their La Aeaea pieces. Each post is so beautiful and creative in their own way.
