Today we’d like to introduce you to Isabella Blue.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Isabella. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I fell In love with music at an early age, being from an entertainment family, I grew up listening to the greats, from classical to classical rock, to the best of country. I decided to pursue music as a career about three years ago. I used to sing everywhere I went, and when I started writing down my thoughts and feelings, I realized that I could be a writer and singer all wrapped into one. So I guess you can call me a singer/songwriter. My whole life revolves around music, but my passion and love for all music wouldn’t be complete without being able to put my emotions and words on the page and making music my own.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
It definitely hasn’t been the easiest journey, I decided to pursue music as a career because my father was my biggest music supporter and fan, and when he passed, I realized that if I didn’t take a chance and try something, I’ve always wanted I would have felt like not only did I let myself down but I let him down.
We’d love to hear more about your work and what you are currently focused on. What else should we know?
I have been currently focusing more on writing and making music more of a hobby. That is due to the fact that making music my career was so much more about being able to make money in the field, then it was about the enjoyment of the music itself. I wanted the chance to pursue music on my terms without the stress of the financial aspect of it. I have now been working on my writing and I am in the process of discovering what it is I can really do with that. I am taking everything one step at a time.
If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?
I wouldn’t have been so hard on myself, and I wouldn’t have compared myself to anyone else. I would have allowed myself the ability to see music as more of a passion I can pursue on my own time rather than as a career.
