Meet Iryl Gomez of Iryl Ink’d in Inland Empire

Today we’d like to introduce you to Iryl Gomez.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Iryl. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
First and foremost, thank you for taking the time to read my story. I hope you find it motivating and inspiring. Born and raised in the Philippines, I came to the U.S when I was eight years old. I grew up in Fresno majority of my life. Originally my plan was to be in the medical field and become a nurse. While taking classes, I found my way to the beauty industry.

Instead of continuing with nursing school, I signed up for the esthetics program instead. I was able to finish my program and received my esthetics license not long after. I started working at a spa as soon as I got licensed. During that time I also managed to work at a hospital at night because I didn’t want to disappoint my family. With all that I have accomplished, I felt stuck and unmotivated. I knew I needed change. I took a leap of faith and moved to Southern California. It was the scariest and best decision I have ever made.

It has given me so many opportunities. Countless opportunities. It gave me the chance to work with some of the biggest companies. I had the opportunity to work with Morphe Brushes Tradeshow team, Frends Beauty, Frankie Rose Cosmetics and Nyx Cosmetics. It gave me the chance to travel and still be able to do what I love. It also gave me the opportunity to open my own studio. The ride hasn’t been easy, but it has been worth it.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Nothing in life comes easy. I have been through so many challenges along the way. But with all those challenges, it has made me into a better person. It made me who I am today. I invested so much into my business. With no family close by to help me with my business, I managed to open up my business on my own. Physically, emotionally, financially and mentally I was exhausted but it has been worth it. I am so incredibly proud to jump those hurdles and continue to succeed. I changed my mindset and always filled my heart with gratitude. I manifested what I wanted and worked hard to get it.

So, as you know, we’re impressed with Iryl Ink’d – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
My business is currently located in the Inland Empire, downtown upland to be exact. My first location was located in Riverside established in 2018. As my business grew, I relocated to a bigger location now located in downtown upland. I offer waxing & makeup services for every occasion, but specializing in wedding makeup.

My most popular service offered is permanent cosmetics. I have been doing permanent cosmetics for almost three years now. I offer Microblading, Microshading & the most popular technique, ombré powder. With just a little shy of two years being a small business owner, I have seen so much progress and growth in my company. I went from a renting a small room to opening a bigger location. I also offer classes in makeup and permanent cosmetics. I am so proud to say I am solely owned & operated.

So, what’s next? Any big plans?
I am so excited for the future. I always have plans in the works for my business. I am looking to expand to a bigger location and be able to offer more services, I would love the opportunity to collaborate with other small businesses and of course, share my love and passion for the beauty industry. Teaching is something I never thought I would do, but I will never turn down any opportunity that comes my way. I started teaching classes for permanent cosmetics and makeup classes. I am thrilled to be able to share my knowledge to other students. For the future, I am planning to finish nursing school and combine the medical field along with the beauty industry and someday operate my own medical spa. I have so many things planned, I cant wait to share with you all.
