Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Both my wife and I were born into the dog industry coming from two different dog show families. We have worked in various parts of the K9 care and training industry from grooming to vet tech to behavioral health specialists. We are both world champion level competitors myself making history being the first ever to compete with an American Staffordshire terrier in a MondioRing world championship in 2017 and Kristi in 2022 winning vice-champion of the world with her dog Mr. Miyagi a Belgian Malinois. People always asked how do we get dogs like you have through our entire career so we developed international K9s to supply people with Luxury companions that are service dog-level trained as well as executive-level protection dogs .
Our dogs are selected from the top 1% of dogs in the world for health temperament beauty and working ability. Our protection dogs are family safe and great with kids. We train our International Defense K9 dogs in our own homes. They are rigorously adapted to the home environment and family situations. Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Anything worth doing is worth doing extremely well. Just like any entrepreneur. It’s a bumpy road! People not believing in you people hating on you, trying to steal your ideas or identity self-doubt. Sleepless nights and early mornings and then it’s always darkest before dawn and things finally start to look up. And the life you deserve starts manifesting in your work. The thing is you have to be a warrior and have thick skin and if your Why is big enough and powerful enough, your mind will make it all work.
