Today we’d like to introduce you to India Isabella.
Hi India, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start, maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers.
I’ve always had a love for music ever since I was little. My mother had a karaoke machine when I was five, and that’s when my passion for music began. We had all the karaoke CDs you can dream of as a lover of RnB, from Motown, Mary J. Blige, Faith Evan’s, Brandy, etc. I became obsessed with singing and in love with RnB.
I’ve always loved singing. I was in choir in school, and my family couldn’t keep me from singing.
I began writing music at 23 and slowly crafted my sound, experimenting with Lofi beats, RnB, and even Hip-Hop until I found my sound. It’s the ultimate homage to early 2000’s and 90’s RnB.
Releasing music was my biggest fear. On a spiritual level, I knew I had to drop something in the window that I did; otherwise, I’d get stuck in another cycle of slavery to my fears. We can’t have that in 2024!!
And now my first baby, ‘U Got It,’ is out in the world!!
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Music comes easily to me. I love everything about it. The hardest part for me was overcoming the fear of people not liking my voice.
When I was younger, I tried out for a school talent show. Some of the judges were my fellow choir-mates. One of the best singers told others I couldn’t sing. It was true then, but I had potential, and I’ve been perfecting my craft since.
Putting myself out there in front of those same people has been the scariest part, but I move through anyway, as we all have to start somewhere.
I want to actualize into my dreams this lifetime!!
Thanks – so, what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I’m an Artist and creative at heart. I make RnB music and my goal is to bring that nostalgic feel we all love to the forefront of my music.
I make music for those that keep the oldies on repeat. I make music for lovers of nostalgia. I make music for creatives. I make music for everyone.
I’m really proud of my sound. It’s just a vibe.
What sets me apart is my message. I sprinkle spirituality into my music, encouraging people to be the best version of themselves regardless of what you believe in; just believe in yourself.
People will get to hear more of that in my upcoming releases!!
Can you talk to us a bit about happiness and what makes you happy?
What makes me happy is my family and my close friends. Nature makes me happy. Quality time makes me happy. Creating makes me happy. Tending to myself and my spiritual path makes me happy.
Creating makes me happy; it’s such a healing, cathartic process.
