

Today we’d like to introduce you to Igor Kholkin.
Igor, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I started working in digital marketing while still attending college in 2005. My family’s luxury transportation business needed an improved presence online and I started looking into all things digital, including web design & development, search engine optimization, and paid search management.
The online marketing industry was interesting to me. While traditional marketing had less-than-clear ROI tracking methodologies, the world of digital marketing had reporting platforms that made it easy to track results with pinpoint precision. This meant I could show the value of investing in digital channels more easily, which is what any client would want. There was also a lack of real experts around so I knew that in time I could carve out a niche for myself while doing something really interesting and exciting.
I went on to join a growing digital marketing agency in LA as an account manager. My expertise and leadership were noticed quickly and in less than 2 years I was promoted to senior manager and lead the agency’s daily SEO & SEM operations. My taste for entrepreneurship led me to leave the agency in early 2016 to pursue my personal business endeavors.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It has not always been a smooth road. Since becoming my own boss & entrepreneur, a couple of my business ventures flamed out due to failed partnerships. I’ve chosen to focus on my consulting business for startups & serious brands looking to grow their online visibility because that’s what I do best. I am still looking at opportunities in eCommerce to further test my abilities and apply my knowledge.
Please tell us more about you and Avidon Marketing Group.
I am a digital marketing consultant that helps companies & brands grow their online presence and revenue. I specialize in SEO & SEM for startups to help them get the best value out of their digital marketing budgets.
There are a number of things that separate me from other SEO/SEM consultants. While most SEO & SEM vendors lack the business acumen to help startups develop a true ROI-positive digital marketing strategy, I provide high-level leadership throughout the campaign that is based not just on SEO but on the business direction in general. I study my clients’ businesses with the mindset of a partner, including studying their competition and researching their market opportunities. My services are also exclusive and I don’t accept competing businesses – which means that only one company in any given vertical can get the benefit of working with me.
I’m very proud of the fact that my clients receive outstanding results on their campaigns. Since starting my consulting business, I have not had a single dissatisfied client and my contract renewal rate is 100%. That is a big compliment to me and the way I conduct business, and it further solidifies my belief that I am truly one of the best digital marketing experts.
Do you look back particularly fondly on any memories from childhood?
One of my favorite memories from childhood was the migration process from Russia. While it was difficult and stressful for the adults in my family, for me it was an incredible journey and a fairy tale come true. When we were leaving, Russia was a shadow of its former self. America presented a shiny new opportunity and I was in awe of the possibilities.
