Today we’d like to introduce you to IC Jonez.
IC, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I started at the age of nine years old, I was inspired by my aunt who was also in the music industry. I would write my own songs and record them myself. As the years went on I continued to perfect my craft.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
It definitely was not a smooth road. I have had my fair share of struggles throughout the years. Between being in groups, to financial struggles, to child struggles, relationship struggles.
So, as you know, we’re impressed with But God Records – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of and what sets you apart from others.
But God Records is a record label that I created and own myself personally. I am the CEO, the booking, the manager, and the artist. I guess you can say I wear many hats. When not working on my own career, I specialize in helping others achieve their goals with their careers, as well as mentoring them in the business sides. I am most proud of my extensive catalog and my logo. It has grown so much throughout the year and is now everlasting. What sets me apart from others is that I am a people magnet. People naturally draw to me, and I can always find a way to spark a conversation. I definitely have the gift of gab. With this gift, it brings in lots of connections that I can utilize for myself, or to connect and help other people succeed.
So, what’s next? Any big plans?
My plans for the future is to continue to build my brand, catalog, and my name. I want it to become a household name across the country and internationally. I would like to get deeper into more media and cinema, and within the next two years, I will be doing something major with the inner city i.e., rebuilding.
