Today we’d like to introduce you to Holy Dose
Hi Holy, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
We’re three musicians musicians that have been making art together in different interactions for several years. Holy Dose as a project started off with a string of improvisational-noise sessions between the three of us that ultimately lead to the first handful of songs from our upcoming record. We wrote music for the next several months until we played our first show early summer last year in the back of a pickup truck. Later that month we did a DJ set in Belgrade, Serbia to show off the electronic elements of our sound. We played throughout LA and the west coast for the rest of the year and through a friend met Jake Rene, who is producing our album.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
The three of us have a nothing but love for the process of making music together. We all love exploring different styles and genres and finding new means of expression in them. It’s definitely not the easiest thing being a musician in the world today but the bright spot is that we’re able to find a way to navigate the difficulties while having a great time together.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
We’re a 3 piece band that is interested in exploring as many different sounds as we can, we mostly dwell in the world of punk and hardcore but bring a lot of digital elements to our writing process. Our main creative desire is to have live shows that are intense and meaningful to the audience. We rehearse endlessly to bring songs that can be a cathartic expression for everyone involved.
