Hi Hollie & Tara, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Sea to Me Blankets was born out of a desire to spread comfort and joy. With a strong business and creative background, as well as a lifelong passion for sewing, I knew I had found the perfect venture.
Our journey began with a children’s clothing line in 2018, selling to SoCal resorts and boutiques. But it wasn’t until we pivoted to creating uber-soft blankets that we truly found our calling. There’s something special about wrapping someone in a blanket that’s been made with love and care. It’s not just about the physical comfort it provides, but about the sense of security and warmth it brings.
As a company, we’re driven by a passion to make the world a better place. We believe that comfort and joy can be found in the simplest things, like a soft blanket on a chilly evening or a cozy night in with loved ones. That’s why we’re committed to donating blankets to those who need them most, from cancer patients to families affected by the recent fires.
At Sea to Me, we’re not just making blankets – we’re making moments of comfort and connection. We’re proud to be a part of so many special moments in people’s lives, and we’re grateful for the opportunity to spread joy, one blanket at a time.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
As any entrepreneur will tell you, the journey is never without its bumps. But for us, the excitement of building something new has always outweighed the challenges.
We learned valuable lessons from our previous venture. Our children’s clothing line taught us that sometimes, simplicity is key. Managing multiple sizes, regulations, and photo shoots with toddlers proved to be a complex and daunting task.
With Sea to Me Blankets, one of our challenges is striking the perfect balance between quality and affordability. We buy most of our fabric directly from the best international mills but we continue to hand sew all our blankets and accessories in downtown Los Angeles. Uncompromising quality is at the heart of our brand. We’ve always had a very hands-on approach and we love being able to quickly take care of our customers needs.
Another challenge for us has been the ever-changing landscape of technology and social media, but we are figuring things out as we go!
Despite the challenges, we’re thrilled to be on this journey. There’s no greater reward than seeing the joy our blankets bring to people’s lives. And as we continue to grow and learn, we’re excited to see where this adventure takes us.

Unlike many of our competitors, who outsource production overseas, we proudly handle every aspect of our business in downtown Los Angeles. This allows us to maintain exceptional standards and attention to detail. We use the same exquisite fabric on both sides of our blankets, ensuring a luxurious feel that’s unmatched.
As a woman-owned company, we’re driven by a desire to make a positive impact. We believe that our blankets have the power to bring comfort, solace, and joy to those who need it most. That’s why we’re dedicated to donating our blankets to individuals and families affected by adversity, such those undergoing cancer treatment and most recently, the victims of wildfires.

What do you like best about our city? What do you like least?
We love Los Angeles because the energy is electric, the healthy lifestyle options are endless, and the weather is simply unbeatable. From hiking and biking to beach days and outdoor yoga, LA offers the perfect blend of activity and relaxation.
What we like least is the traffic.
