Today we’d like to introduce you to Haylee Harrison.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Haylee. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
Originally my sister and I started off as clients ourselves in the Ventura County area. The lash tech we were going to was offering trainings, so we took the course right away. We first started off working on friends and family in home and soon after we were taking on our own clients at a hair salon in Camarillo. We quickly built our clientele just by posting on social media and a lot of our following seemed to be from the LA area, so we took our business to Westwood and officially went by “Treat Yourself Studios”. Ever since we moved out to LA our business just continues to grow!
Has it been a smooth road?
Fortunately for us, it has been a pretty smooth road. We are very lucky to have each other and be able to work alongside one another every day. These days if you work hard and have good business and social skills all you need is social media to get your name out there. Our Instagram specifically has been so beneficial to our business!
So, let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Treat Yourself Studios story. Tell us more about the business.
We specialize in eyelash extensions. We now have 3 girls in the TYS studio doing eyelashes and just added our first eyebrow artist to the team. We are most proud of how busy we constantly stay and how fast we got to where we are today. Although at the beginning it was not easy, we took it very seriously and knew that if we stuck to it we could potentially be the best in the LA area because it was a newer trend to the industry. There are many girls out there doing lashes now but what sets us apart is our knowledge and professionalism. We have taken several lash trainings and our now brand ambassadors for the biggest lash company in the game, Borboleta Beauty.
How do you think the industry will change over the next decade?
The first goal is to move into a bigger salon. Right now, we are in the Westwood Phenix Salon Suites and have been looking at retail spaces for lease in the same area (Westwood/Brentwood). Once we have a bigger spot we’d like to hire more professionals but keep it at lashes and brows only. Because we are already sponsored by Borboleta Beauty we are not in a rush to start our own products but that is a long-term goal! We would love to be a part of more beauty events such as Beauty Con etc. and collaborate with other brands!
