Meet Hasmig “Jasmine” Boyajian of PLANiT LA

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jasmine Boyajian.

Jasmine, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
Every birthday growing up was a big celebration in my house. It didn’t matter if it was a family party, which meant at least 30 people, or if it was a 100 person sweet 16 birthday party! Life had to include a special birthday celebration for me. Every. Single. Year!

All those celebrations lead to the realization that my passion consisted of planning parties, enjoying great food, and listening to great music! Thanks to a fellow food loving cousin of mine, I came across The Collins College at Cal Poly Pomona! I graduated with my Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, and had 4 years of the best industry experience in my life. I have been lucky to have worked in all aspects of the hospitality industry, from Los Angeles to Orange County! I was able to have fun, enjoy great food and wine, and be creative, all while earning my degree!

Upon graduating, I was able to secure a full time position as Director of Special Events and Catering at a well-known restaurant in Pasadena. I spent the next 5 years transforming their business from primarily business lunch catering, to full service off site events and catering. It was my main focus to ensure that our clients were beyond satisfied and that their expectations were exceeded. We truly transformed their menus, and creatively modernized the way catering and events were done over the past 20 years.

As I continued to grow professionally, I went back to school and obtained my ABC Bartenders License, and got certified as a Wedding Planner. The next step was to start my own event planning business.

The pleasure and excitement I get when I am able to incorporate things I love into my day to day work and follow my passion is truly a blessing. I can honestly say I love what I do, and cannot imagine doing anything else. In my line of work I am able to get inspiration from anything and everything around me. The world is my blank canvas. Finding inspiration and exploring ideas to create an event is my art. Today, I am the proud owner of PLANiT LA, a full service Event Planning and Design Company.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Running your own business will always present a set of different challenges every single day. It’s all in how you take that challenge and find a creative solution to it. I feel that if I am not challenged, I will not grow. I have overcome a lot of obstacles in my life to get to where I am today, and I am only moving forward and upward.

It is truly humbling to be able to sit back and say, this is mine, and I choose to go where I want to with it. Together with my family, friends, clients, professional colleagues and mentors, we can turn any challenge into a win.

So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the PLANiT LA story. Tell us more about the business.
PLANiT LA specializes in creating customized events for each individual client, ensuring they have a fun and stress free event planning experience. We work with individuals and companies that want to have an unforgettable event in the way that best reflects who they are or what their company stands for. We plan and design special events, weddings, celebrations, corporate team building retreats, and much more.

We are always on the lookout for finding unique venues, seeking new trends, and incorporating different elements into the event planning and design experience. We pride ourselves in our resourcefulness and are always willing, able, and ready to take on new and exciting projects.

There are a million details that we take into consideration when planning an event. We anticipate the needs of the entire event all while keeping the big picture in mind. We care deeply about the success of the event and the satisfaction of our clients. This is why we take the time to get to know them, and to understand what it is they envision and what it is they can truly afford.

Additionally, we work with a large variety of exceptional professionals in our industry. We like to match vendors that are best suited for our clients’ unique style and taste, to ensure that what is envisioned is brought to life.

It is very important to our company to be that perfect match to ensure that the needs and expectations of our individual clients are met.

Because really, do you EVER need a reason to have a party???

We love Jasmine! Took over all the hassles of our wedding planning after I broke my foot before big day! She came to Orange County and was fantastic!
