Today we’d like to introduce you to Hasan Ali.
Hasan, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
As I was applying to medical school, I privately tutored chemistry and one of my parents suggested to tutor her daughter online to save me from my 4-mile commute of an hour and a half (typical LA, right?). So, I gladly took that suggestion and immediately after switching to the online format her student’s level of comprehension and engagement skyrocketed. The online format totally placated her learning differences and, through our collaboration, an amazing educational experience to best help students of all skills and locations was born. The realization that there is a larger need within the community drove further iterations in terms of our technology and human capacity; we grew a community of highly qualified tutors, educational therapists, and college guidance counselors.
Has it been a smooth road?
I decided to withdraw my medical school applications after my initial’s student’s success and there ensued the normal feelings of anxiety and uncertainty. The feeling was especially heightened when parents would be super skeptical of the online approach, however, after their student experienced our style they immediately saw the learning benefits. So, the encouragement from parents and more the successes of their students kept me on the entrepreneurial path. And I’m so happy for it. The altruistic community we have evolved into continually keeps us creative and encouraged to best help learners everywhere.

Air Tutors is a curated community of mentor minded educators helping students, families and fellow educators succeed through a unique, positive, and full-service educational experience. Most of our educators hold advanced degrees from prestigious universities and have many years of teaching experience. The best part about them, though, is that their personality outshines their brilliance and they are able to make learning an enjoyable process. We specialize in all standardized tests and academic subjects as our selected educators are usually professors from different universities or colleges. Our platform makes distance learning really easy and gives teaching tools that make lectures come alive for students. We even took the advice of school administrators and created a brick and mortar classroom version of our platform called Air Sprout that turns any school into a smart school.
We are most proud of securing our first partnership with a school district and are excited about the others in the pipeline. Our goal is to have 1:1 cities where each student has their own Ivy League educator while inspiring this community of educators to promote global professional development.
Is our city a good place to do what you do?
Our city is the perfect mix of creatives of all types–an amalgam of individuals specializing in literature, arts, sciences, and the maths. We have passionate individuals that love to inspire positivity within others and combining engineers with artists and educators creates an awesome student experience. We are all learners and I would encourage others starting out to continually listen to their audience to meet their particular needs with innovative solutions.
