Meet Hannah Hausen, Diana Gastelum, and Celi Laguna of Lychee & Plum

Today we’d like to introduce you to Hannah Hausen, Diana Gastelum, and Celi Laguna.

Hannah, Diana, and Celi, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
Lychee & Plum was born from our mutual obsession over creating unforgettable parties. We often noticed many elements at traditional parties being overlooked. Many hosts don’t realize how tending to small details can famously elevate any evenings. Slinky lighting and dreamy tablescapes punctuated with tons of flowers, helps us realize the intimate setting we oh-so-love.

The menu is always thoughtful; food must always be delicious and beautifully presented. Most importantly, the guest list has to be aces. Every friend doesn’t have to come to every party. To keep the conversation lively, invitees should be curated; compatible, yet eclectic.

After throwing countless fabulous nights for our personal fancy, our friends started to insist we start a business. Once we realized we could turn our passions into work, we hit the ground running. Friends of friends started hiring us for different occasions. Now we’ve done it all, from baby showers to brand launches. Sometimes our focus is the food, other times we’ve been hired solely to decorate and set the mood.

As we started booking parties, our blog came naturally as a way to connect with our community. Here we share recipes and cooking mishaps, travel adventures and foodie travel guides, plus restaurant experiences and our favorite hole-in-the-walls (we really love a good hole-in-the-wall).

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Our journey has been surprisingly smooth. Starting the website and teaching ourselves SEO was quite a time consuming, but we persevered. We are still learning food photography and are sometimes disappointed when we don’t get it right.

At every event, there is always this hour of crunch time right before, where we feel like it’s all going to fall apart – but it always ends up just fabulous. Now, we are the main focus is booking a steady calendar and producing more content.

Please tell us about Lychee & Plum.
We founded this company throwing underground dinner parties in LA. Visually-stimulating dinners are designed for good vibes and really good times. Moreover, dinners are carefully curated – from start to finish.

Intimate meals feature gourmet food and cocktails, with a focus on quality ingredients, beautiful plating, and whimsical presentations. Above all, ambiance the is key. Using our keen eye for style, we create an immersive setting that doesn’t stop at the table.

Incidentally, parties will take you to another place. After a few stellar dinner parties, requests for larger scale events started to trickle in.

Now, Lychee and Plum can offer styled events for larger parties; from baby showers to intimate weddings. Ultimately, we are committed to providing our clients with dreamy events that surpass all expectations.

Do you look back particularly fondly on any memories from childhood?
My Aunt Ann took me to Tuscan restaurant want I was 1. She ordered us a bottle of red wine, and we feasted on steaks and grilled artichoke. I felt so fancy and grown-up.
