Meet Hallie Kelsey of Dave’s Flowers HB in Huntington Beach

Today we’d like to introduce you to Hallie Kelsey.

Hallie, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I went to school at Golden West College for floral design and also studied in New York during that time I also went to school at interior designer’s institute for interior design. After working for some of the best floral designers in Orange County, I bought Dave’s flowers in 2008 at the age of 22… I sit on the board of directors for Golden West College and have built this shop to be one of the best in Orange County.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Any small business has struggles. I did buy the shop in 2008 one week after my father passes away when the recession happened. That was a hard time but made me more motivated to make this shop amazing.

Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about Dave’s Flowers HB – what should we know?
We specialize in all occasions, corporate accounts, funeral flowers, weddings and every day. We are a small shop and treat everyone as family. I have customers that have turned into friends over the years. I feel that sets it apart. People come to use for beautiful flowers that you can’t find at every store. Peonies, orchids from Thailand and imports from Holland. We have many well know clients in the community such as HB police department, Saks 5th Ave, BJ corporate office as well as many more.
