Today we’d like to introduce you to Guido Massri.
Guido, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I started as an actor when I was 12, back in Buenos Aires, Argentina. I’ve participated in more than 20 tv series, soap operas and tv shows. And four movies. In 2013, I moved to Miami to work for Telemundo, where I’ve participated in several series for the Latin market (Reina De Corazones, Ruta35, Tomame o Dejame, among others).
From that moment, I continue growing my acting career in the US. In 2017 I moved to LA after booking a big commercial campaign and decided to stay. In LA, I’ve been taking acting lessons and auditioning. After booking several commercials, in 2018 I’ve booked my first role in an American feature film: “Ernesto’s Manifesto”, premiered in January 2019 at the Chinese Theater in Los Angeles.
It’s been a long journey, more than 25 years doing what I love. Being far away from my family and loved ones hasn’t been easy, but my dreams are stronger than any negative feeling. My dreams motivate me to continue this journey. I dream with booking challenging roles, getting to work with strong actors, and telling amazing stories.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
It hasn’t been easy, like everything in life takes effort. When I moved to US by myself, I had to learn to live far away from my people, my family and friends and also learn to enjoy time with myself, was and still is pretty challenging. In LA, there’s ups and downs, the acting career isn’t happy all the time. You get more ” No’s” than “Yes’s”, and thats part of it. The challenge is to learn how to live with that, and I’m still learning.
We’d love to hear more about your work and what you are currently focused on. What else should we know?
As I said, I’m an actor with more than 25 years of experience between Argentina, Spain, Mexico, Miami and LA. I’ve participated in very successful tv series (Amigovios, Como Pan Caliente, Campeones, Don Juan y su bella Dama, Secretos de Amor, Reina de Corazones, Ruta35, Tomame o Dejame, Voltea pa que te enamores, Amarte Asi, among others).
If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?
Work-wise, I would definitely put more energy and interest in public relations, contacting people and creating new opportunities.
Personal-wise, I would have invested more time and energy in my relationships with my loved ones.
