Today we’d like to introduce you to Griffin Raphael. Him and his team share his story with us below.
Can you please give us some background on Griffin’s story.
Griffin Raphael first became interested in music in middle school. At a young age, he immersed himself in electronic dance music and since then has never looked back.
Griffin’s first mix, “Almost Orange”, was inspired by his hometown of Laguna Beach, CA. Growing up in Orange County, he took a liking to an array of genres, but Tropical House music was what he wanted to influence. Sampling the ocean waves of Laguna Beach, he put together his first mix and later experimented with an array of genres.
Griffin is constantly inspired by other artists. Some of my favorite artists include Daft Punk, Tiesto, Calvin Harris, Odesza, and Skrillex.
Moving forward in his career, he hopes to continue to make a positive impact on the dance music scene. Though he’s been fortunate enough to perform at various venues throughout the area, Griffin Raphael hopes to perform in venues worldwide. A long-time goal of his would be to perform in some of the most prominent EDM scenes in the world, including Ibiza.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
It hasn’t been a smooth road, because the scene is super competitive, but I am fortunate to be constantly doing what I love.
We’d love to hear more about your work.

Music is much more than just a hobby. I appreciate that I can truly be himself. Being able to make the crowd feel at ease with my music selections is also quite rewarding for me. I enjoy making other people happy and giving them a great experience. Ultimately, with each new event, I look to inspire the crowd and help them focus on something else for a while. When people are at a nightclub, they can forget the outside world and just concentrate on having a good time.
I am often times inspired by my surroundings and whenever there is an opportunity, I always attends shows so that I can experience and learn from some of the greatest DJs of our time.
Moving forward in my career, I hope to continue to make a positive impact on the dance music scene. Though I’ve been fortunate enough to perform at various venues throughout the area, I hope to perform in venues worldwide. A long-time goal of mine would be to perform in some of the most prominent EDM scenes in the world, including Ibiza.
So, what’s next? Any big plans?
