Today we’d like to introduce you to Greg Jeiranyan
Hi Greg, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
My journey in plumbing was inspired by my father, who always encouraged me to pursue a career in the industry. He recognized the immense potential within plumbing and had aspirations to follow that path himself. However, due to financial responsibilities, he chose a career in banking instead. Despite this, he remained a strong advocate for my future in plumbing. In fact, the name of my company, Plumbing Geeks, was his original idea. My journey began right after high school when I was just 17 years old. Eager to learn the trade, I joined an apprenticeship with my uncle, who was a journeyman plumber at a family-owned plumbing company. After almost two years of hands-on experience, I branched out to explore other plumbing companies, where I continued to hone my skills while attending LA Trade Tech for trade school. Through trial and error with different companies, I eventually found one that truly accelerated my learning, offering support and a renewed passion for the trade. After six years of experience and two years of trade school, I felt ready to pursue my California Plumbing Contractor License. I dedicated myself to studying every day after long work hours for six months, and when the time came, I passed the exam. Starting my own business was both exciting and nerve-wracking. It was difficult at first to find clients and build a reputation, but through months of prospecting, marketing, and word-of-mouth referrals, I was able to establish a consistent workflow. Today, my company has three vans, a loyal and growing clientele, and a proud 5-star rating on Yelp. I’m honored to have earned the trust of my clients and built a business I can truly call my own.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
My journey to success was far from smooth, and I encountered numerous challenges along the way. One of the most significant hurdles was finding a mentor who was genuinely invested in teaching me the trade. In addition to this, I faced inconsistent work schedules, periods of financial uncertainty, and grueling, long hours that often took a physical and mental toll. Much of my growth came from self-education, as I navigated the complexities of the industry with limited guidance. The emotional and mental fatigue that came with these challenges was overwhelming at times, but it was through perseverance and resilience that I was able to push forward and ultimately succeed.

As a child, I was always eager to learn and naturally curious about the world around me. I maintained a strong sense of discipline both at home and in school, which helped shape my work ethic. With an optimistic outlook on life, I was always excited about the opportunities and experiences that lay ahead.
